Daniel has made quite a stir
already. As our 13th child, born March 26th of this year, he's already made
quite a splash in the news in quite a few places. The local Channels 8 and
13 interviewed Jane at the hospital, and Channel 8 followed us home and
interviewed some of the other children and myself. From there, we've had
what I would call a pre-interview with CBS (morning show), and this morning,
I was interviewed live over the phone on a radio station in Raleigh, NC. Our
local TV station published the information on it's site (theiowachannel.com),
and apparently it's sister stations spread it across the US on other sites
(information on the sites is almost identical):
Apparently (as our Hannah has discovered),
the story was syndicated through the IBS Network (http://www.ibsys.com/index.html),
a network of around 65 stations. If you go to each web site, and add
/family/2961770/detail.html to the end of it, the story is there...
Hannah analyzes:
Seems it could be a
feature of every site on the
IBS Network, which translates to possible mentions in 31 states (AR,
CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, HI, IL, IN, KY, LA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NE,
NM, NV, NY, OH, PA, RI, SC, TX, WA, and WI)— every state in the Union
excepting AK, AL, AZ, DE, ID, KS, ME, MT, ND, NJ, OK, OR, SD, TN, UT, VA,
VT, WV, and WY.
The information on the sites is erroneous
in many ways:
- Our oldest is a daughter who is 21, who
is married and has a daughter, not a son
- Daniel was greeted by only 10 of his
siblings, as his oldest brother is in Texas (Air Force training) and his
oldest sister was not present
- Jane home schools only 7 of the kids
right now, as 3 have graduated, and 3 are yet too young for school
(counting Daniel), though technically, everyone at home is in the school
of hard knocks!
And this
all started when the anesthesiologist (whoa) at the hospital asked if he
could talk to the hospital PR department about us... |
