2025 Subra Reunion
 

The Date:

26 July 2025 (our traditional "last Saturday in July").

We have reserved the rooms from 11 AM to 3 PM, giving us time to eat (and eat and eat) and to interact on informal family history and just getting to know / get reacquainted.

The Place:

We will meet at the Pizza Ranch in Austin, MN (https://pizzaranch.com/locations/mn/austin/1300-18th-ave-nw). Austin remains a very central location for those traveling from every direction.

We have two rooms (they combine into one) reserved. Pizza Ranch does not charge for the use of the rooms (hurray!), but they do ask us to purchase food there (not bring it in).

There is a FunZone arcade for kids, if you desire to leverage this (this has additional cost). (https://pizzaranchfunzone.com/locations/austin) - For what it's worth, my fun zone is the buffet. ��

The Price:

We will try to give updated pricing information for the buffet. It is currently $16.99/person, drink included.

Kids are $1.00/year of age (up to age 10). They also have discounts for veterans and those 65 and older.

I am sure you can order off the menu if you prefer to do so instead of the buffet.

The Logic:

As we discussed this option at the 2024 Reunion, it was very favorable for many reasons.

Meeting at Pizza Ranch:

  • Provides a new venue (just to change things up).
  • Is more cost-effective. avoids paying for a meeting place (now $300), and the expense of buying lots of food for an unknown number.
  • Allows us to accommodate any number easily, rather than having to prepare food and supplies for an unknown number of attendees (we always have to "aim high").
  • Makes it easier for everyone to attend. You don't have to bring any food or drink. Just show up hungry.
  • Provides a wide range of food and drink options (Carolyn, Ranetta, and Kevin can even have their necessary coffee there <grin>). If you've never been to a Pizza Ranch, they have a great buffet with a large selection of food, including some of the best fried chicken anywhere (now I'm hungry). I just call Pizza Ranch chicken the "Subra family secret recipe."<grin>
  • May offer some flexibility in arrival and departure. You can come late and still eat. You can eat and run (if you have to).
